Inspired by a lecture on Civil War quilts by Barbara Brackman and a verse from 1855 by Lucy Larcom, this design is not meant to be an authentic reproduction, but rather a tribute to those women of old, who in ways both quiet & bold, endured and participated in times of war. The central portion of this design is reminiscent of the soldiers' quilts of the era (made by women) while the border reflects the verse. Pattern includes rotary cutting instructions for the simple piecing as well as applique templates. Finished size 80" x 94". Designed by Ruth Powers
