Pieced Quilt Patterns

Here we have literally hundreds of patterns to choose from - more than 1300; pieced patterns are the most popular among quilters, with applique patterns coming in a close second. Pieced patterns and block patterns began showing up in magazines and newspapers in the late 1800’s and a whole new world opened up to quilters that had previously learned and shared with only family and neighbors. Now they were learning and sharing with people all over the country, sometimes all over the world. It was still a far cry from our modern world where patterns are to be found everywhere . . . on the internet, books, quilt shops, magazines. So many patterns, so little time.
